ipod manager ubuntu
How do I get ubuntu to read my USB devices?

I installed USB mount and some other things from the Manager Synaptic Package. My iPod works properly in Ubuntu, but it will not read my cell phone with a USB cable to transfer music or pictures to or from it. It has also still not read my USB flash drives. My USB devices can be read by Windows but not Ubuntu. Help?

I never had a problem with any of my USB devices .. What brand? USB device formatted as? Version of Ubuntu? 8.04? 8.10? 9.04? so first see if Ubuntu sees the same devices .. Go to Applications-> Accessories-> terminal type in "lsusb" (without quotes) and press ENTER. See what devices are listed for USB. Have you tried to look under Places> Computer .. (A bit like Post work) .. If you see USB devices there, then they are simply not mounted .. If you see and double click it does open? (Have you ever try this?) Here are some possible connections that might help. http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1128275.html it on https: / / bugs.launchpad.net / Ubuntu / + source / linux / + bug/261710 http://www.linuxforums. org/forum/ubuntu-help/70300-mounting-cellphone-usb-port.html
